Production Method

From the orchard to the table, our network and operations ensure a clean, traceable almond product.

Almond Harvesting

HWA provides a variety of resources to our 200+ growers. This includes information and actionable steps to practice water conservation, waste reduction, and pollinator health. These initiatives, plus more, help us provide sustainable, clean almond products. After being harvested, our almonds get transported to our Coalinga facility.

Almond Processing

Our local processing facility prioritizes optical sorting, employee training, and preemptive measures that promote less waste and a clean almond product. Our almonds go through an efficient pre-cleaning process that involves methods to separate foreign material and any product defects. Our investment in innovative equipment and attention to detail ensures we are consistently producing quality in shell almonds. The almonds are sorted and packed in accordance with USDA grading parameters, our customer's specifications, and the FDA's Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Packaging

Our in shell almonds are packaged in 50-pound sacks (35 sacks per pallet). All units are labeled with product name, allergen declaration, processor name, address, weight, kosher symbol, date of manufacture, date of expiry, and lot number.

Storage & Shelf Life

HWA in shell almonds can be stored for up to two years.
